My recipe for living with vitality, peace, and purpose is to nourish the body, heal the heart, and train the mind through yogic and Buddhist practices.
Through Boston-area classes, workshops, private sessions, mindfulness mentoring, and online courses, I guide a mix of body-based and contemplative methods that help us feel at home with ourselves and buoy us through challenging times.
“Sarah Jane encourages exploration through breath, relaxing tension, listening.” – Jean from Brookline
"I felt enveloped in a warm, caring cocoon of safety, ease, and security." – Lea from Boston
“Sarah Jane taught me to listen to my body and gave me a deep sense of confidence.” – Razan from New York
YIN/YANG YOGA: Still and passive floor-based poses enhance connective tissue health and stimulate healing energy flow (yin), while active standing poses warm and strengthen the body (yang). Depending on circumstances and needs, these contrasting methods may be offered alone or together to promote physical, energetic, emotional, and mental balance.
PRANAYAMA: Deliberately pacing and patterning your inhales and exhales affects your nervous system, decreasing feelings and effects of stress, and stabilizing blood pressure and mood.
MEDITATION: The cultivation of mindfulness and compassion enhances stability and open-heartedness, enabling you to let go of struggle and engage with life as it is, even amidst challenging circumstances and conditions.
PSYCHOSPIRITUAL INQUIRY: In longer workshops and in mentoring sessions, time spent contemplating, journaling, and discussing life lays bare our capacities, challenges, and values...expanding self-awareness, revealing possibility, and encouraging a sense of agency. Additionally, mentoring is an opportunity to engage in "parts" work to integrate aspects of self that become evident through mindfulness and other practices.
