san·gha /ˈsäNG(ɡ)ə/ noun 1. Community of meditation practitioners
Drop in to this weekly "sit" in a virtual meditation hall from any quiet place, Wednesdays 7:15-7:45am Eastern Time.
A daily practice can be revolutionary! If you haven't yet established one, you may start with and return to this weekly gathering of practitioners. Let it be an anchor to your self-led practice.
We gather by clicking a Zoom link, provided by email upon sign up. You will not be on video unless you choose to be.
To open, I ask participants to check in by sharing their name, location, and what feels present. I then provide background on our method and guide a 20-minute meditation before a check-out.
Whether you are sleepy, anxious, settled, challenged...I encourage you to show up. Whatever our condition, when we bring mindfulness to it, we expand our tolerance for a broader bandwidth of experience. Practice results in deeper self-knowledge, a greater sense of connection to others, enhanced ability to self-regulate, and less mental suffering.
Each month we focus on a particular theme, teaching, or method of practice, such as the Four Foundations of Mindfulness or Lovingkindess.
Whether or not you join in on a given Wednesday, each Thursday you'll receive a follow up email with a recording of the previous day's meditation and further resources, such as articles relating to the method we practiced or links to poems I occasionally include.
